About The Event

ree

Each month, we explore a thought-provoking book that connects the past to today’s most important movements—and we invite the author to join us in person for a powerful conversation! This month, we’re reading The Apprenticeship That Saved My Life by Maryland State Senator Cory V. McCray.

In this inspiring and practical memoir, Senator McCray shares his journey from the streets of East Baltimore to the Maryland General Assembly, the transformative power of apprenticeship, mentorship, and "earn-while-you-learn" opportunities. Through his personal story, McCray offers hope and insight for young people, families, and educators seeking sustainable paths toward success and leadership.

Join us as we walk through this powerful testimony and reflect on what’s possible when access meets opportunity.

As an added benefit, LCJM Book Club members enjoy exclusive access to special perks, including discounted books, complimentary self-guided tours, priority registration for programs, and more.
