About The Event

Come celebrate Prayer and Pen: The Prayers & Legacy of Carl Murphy with a live, engaging discussion led by Lisa Mitchell Sennarr, great-granddaughter of Dr. Lillie Carroll Jackson and co-facilitator of the LCJM Book Club. This powerful book—curated by Dr. Draper, granddaughter of the legendary Carl Murphy and current publisher of The AFRO—offers an intimate glimpse into the spiritual life and enduring legacy of one of the most influential figures in Black journalism.

✨ Bonus! Dr. Draper will have copies available for purchase and signing—don’t miss your chance to get one and meet the author in person.

Let’s gather to honor legacy, explore leadership, and reflect on the prayers that helped shape a movement.
