About The Event

Join us Saturday, October 25 at 4 PM for a special LCJM Book Club discussion featuring The Apprenticeship That Saved My Life by Maryland State Senator Cory V. McCray, facilitated by Lisa Mitchell Sennaar, great-granddaughter of Dr. Lillie Carroll Jackson.

Part memoir, part practical guide, the book traces McCray’s journey from the streets of East Baltimore to the Maryland General Assembly showing what’s possible when access meets opportunity. The story highlights the life-changing power of apprenticeships, mentorship, and “earn-while-you-learn” pathways, offering powerful insights for young people, families, and educators seeking sustainable futures.

Registration is required and space is limited. Can’t join in person?
